NuVu Studio—learning experience design
NuVu X is an initiative to bring design, creativity, and innovation inside schools. Since its launch in 2010, NuVu has been fine-tuning its studio model through its full-time Innovation School. A challenge arose when translating NuVu’s processes to traditional academic curriculum.

How can we apply innovation studios seamlessly to classrooms?
Many educators shared their struggles integrating project-based learning and using technology effectively in classrooms. In 2016, we decided to tackle this head on with our first partner school, All Saints Academy.
My role as the Design Expert was to help build personalized project-based learning experiences for All Saints Academy’s students and staff. I led intuitive content curation for easy consumption and application (tutorials, gifs, presentation graphics, studio framing) and idea generation workshops. I also offered teachers 1:1 mentoring and curated both school-wide exhibitions which highlighted several outstanding projects.
The success of this program influenced schools across the world to join the NuVuX Initiative from North America to Europe to Asia. In fact, after the initial launch at All Saints Academy, Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow, Scotland brought us on to run 2 workshops—Swarm Robotics (taught by Nathan Melinbrink and myself) and Future Fashion (taught by Becca Rose and Andrew Marcus).
